Try Wifiman from Ubiquiti, probably one of the better ones out there.

Hey Pete,
I purchased the LANSpeedTest license upgrade via PayPal. I haven't seen any license info. Can you check for me?
Hey, the best place is probably one of those U-Pull-And-Pay junkyards. Or a Nissan dealer. As long as you didn't mess up the old one too bad, just use that one. It's not really a precision part. :)
To test with LAN Speed Test you need at least a Windows PC and a network share. To test more robustly, you can ran LAN Speed Test server on one machine and the client on another.
Will it be...

The SSD isn't really necessary for this sort of build and you'd be better off getting a large normal drive for about the same price. What are you going to use for the audio players?
Is this computer on a domain or a homegroup? What's the credentials you are using? Have you tried IP address of the computer? I'm not sure the developer frequents these forums anymore.
Yes, adding a switch is just fine. Which one were you thinking of getting?
Wow, tripling throughput on wireless is great. Looking forward to hearing about that.
You could always experiment with jumbo frames, but odds are you won't see much improvement with them. You'd also want to segment your network for clients that can and can not utilize jumbo frames. ...
My results are here, not much different than yours. http://www.homenetworkenabled.com/content.php?177-Your-gigabit-network-what-kind-of-speed-should-you-really-expect
500-600MBps isn't bad. It's not the ultimate, but it's not bad. I would guess the bottleneck is your NAS. Even so, that speed is relatively good.

Very nice numbers indeed!
RAID 1 write speeds are always going to be a little slower, but they shouldn't be that slow.
The best performance metrics I could find was the SmallNetBuilder Synology DS213+ benchmarks. The...
Hi Scott, those are some slow write speeds. Which NAS is it and how do you have the drives configured?

Good tip on the pick up tool. I think I tried one of those, but someone else had bent the top of my tube in their attempt. It's amazing how many views this article still gets... :)
Great news, those numbers look fantastic! Great troubleshooting, I've gone down many rat holes myself doing the hardest items first and completely overlooking the easy and obvious ones.
That's the right URL, run some tests on that tonight and let's go from there!
