Hi Pete!
I am trying to register the latest versions of LST on my PC and Mac but your online store doesn't like my license information. I sent a support email on your website but that I'd reach...
/Volumes/backups-3 in the tests above is not a local drive. Its a network share... to a shared folder named "Backups" on a Synology DS1812+ NAS to be more specific.
Hi Pete
I have some concerns regarding the read speeds. When I look at the download speed on my Mac it is showing very little throughput. I'm thinking the app isn't even downloading the data but...
Is it feasible to increase the number of simultaneous streams from 2 to 10 when testing against network folders?
NAS performance tester, another LAN speed testing program, can handle >10.
If...
BTW, both my Windows and Mac laptops were connected via 5GHz @ 300 Mbps at the time of the tests.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything further.

Sorry for the late response Pete. I didn't notice your question above until now. I'll perform that test for you ASAP.
Here are a couple of tests with the latest LST v1.3:

Pete,
This is all the testing I am planning on performing with this version. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
BTW, when copying a large file (1+ GB) from the same...
Well, I wanted to make sure and re-test using LST Server in the same spots. Here is the result from same spot as above:

And closer to an access point at 300 transmit rate:

I just tested again without using LST Server.

The above throughput just doesn't look very good. I walked closer to an access point, verified I was on the 5 GHz band at a transmit rate of...
I finally got around to testing this beta (with LST Server) about a week or so ago. LST seems to be working, but I'd like the ability to average multiple streams, etc. I know this functionality...
Everything works just fine for us as well on the following Operating Systems:
1. Windows 7 Ultimate 32- and 64-bit
2. Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
3. Windows XP Professional

I have had this laptop for a few years. It first came with Vista, then was upgraded to Windows 7. I wouldn't allow them to put a clean install on it for various reasons. For example, I had too...

I rebuilt my laptop with Windows 8 Pro. Same hardware (i.e. NIC card, RAM, etc.).
Here are my latest results using LST 3.1 and LST Server 1.3.

Pete,
Good news for you, and bad news for me.
We tested with NetStress (with 8 streams) and we only achieved ~450 Mbps write speed and Task Manager reported ~85% network usage. Therefore LST...
I added the Bytes Throughput column and it too shows 99% during the "writing" phase. I am not sure why my write speeds are off by so much. *confused*
I will add the Bytes Throughput column and post back.
We use Windows Firewall and Microsoft Essentials... nothing else. We disabled real-time protection in the Microsoft Essentials GUI. Should...
I was referring to the Network tab in task manager, not the Process tab. I was curious why network utilization was 99% while writing, but LST was only showing 500 - 600 Mbps.
FYI, during the "writing" phase task manager shows that network utilization is 99% (solid). During the "reading" phase it shows a 97.1 - 97.5% network utilization.
Thoughts?
