    CurlyNet

This thread will contain Test results using Totusoft Lan Speed Test and LST Server.
    First, the CurlyNet:
    Curly's Network
The network (CurlyNet) over which the subsequent set of LST/LST Server Tests were conducted is as follows:
Machine A:: Name: BlackBeauty2, Addr: 192.168.1.64 Custom Crafted
Motherboard: ASUS P8 Z77-V LE Plus
    Processor: Intel i7-3770K @ 3.5 GHz
    RAM: 16 GBytes
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit.
Ethernet Interface: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (1 gbit) built into the motherboard
Machine B:: Name: BlackBeauty, Addr: 192.168.1.68 Custom Crafted
    Motherboard: ASUS P6T
    Processor: Intel i7 930 @ 2.8 GHz
    RAM: 6 GBytes
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit.
Ethernet Interface: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (1 gbit) built into the motherboard
Machine C:: Name: Backroom, Addr: 192.168.1.69 Built by BCOM (a local computer store)
    Motherboard: ASUS P5QL-EM
    Processor: Intel Core2 Quad CPU 8200 @ 2.33 GHz
    RAM: 2 GBytes
OS: Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit.
Ethernet Interface: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (1 gbit) built into the motherboard
They are networked through a hub and a hub built in to a 'supermodem', a unit which combines
a digital tv feed and an internet access all being mashed over a DSL feed; provided by
    the local telco.

A reasonable set of results: The interfaces definitely seem to be performing.

    Once Again, Thanks Scott...
but it is now time for the 'other shoe to drop'.
This set of results is the folder side, which shows that there is some kind of set up problem concerning the Network stuff on Machine A (BlackBeauty2). Note that Machine A (BlackBeauty2) and Machine B (BlackBeauty) are both 64 bit machines, and are both running Windows 7 64 bit versions. The Server Results previously shown prove to me that there is no problem with the NICs and with the network wiring. So, I am faced with it being some sort of setup specification on BlackBeauty2.
Fortunately the game software operates at the same sort of level as the LST Server.

Hi guys, curly here; I haven't forgot about you.
I have a short update and will follow with more complete test results to illustrate the solution; but I have solved the performance difficulties with BlackBeauty2. It was essentially setting problem. After I had properly set the firewalls on all three machines (enabling LST throughput), things started to behave much more consistently. I have added a fourth machine to my network, and will throw in some results for her as well, made somewhat more interesting as she (BABYPANTS) is connected to my net wirelessly!
    Stay tuned for future revelations!
